Vacuum breaker

What is the purpose of the water vacuum breaker?

The vacuum breaker sucks air when the upstream side becomes negative pressure and prevents the backflow from the downstream side due to the reverse siphon action.
There are two types of breakers that consist of check valves and vent valves: the "SHASE S211 atmospheric pressure type vacuum breaker" that does not constantly apply water pressure, and the "SHASE S215 pressure type vacuum breaker" that is used for water supply systems that constantly apply water pressure.
In addition, there are breakers such as the "hose-connected vacuum breaker" used for faucet outlets in the United States.
