Water hammer preventer

Where should I install a water hammer arrestor when water hammer occurs? (Answer details include a video)

Basically, install it in the immediate vicinity of the device that generates water hammer.
For pumps, it is closest to the discharge side, and for solenoid valves, it is closest to the inlet side.
By installing it in the immediate vicinity, noise caused by water hammer can be prevented from propagating to the end of the pipe and other equipment.
