About pressure reducing valve for steam
Please tell me how to adjust the pressure. (There is a video in the answer details)
Please see the video of the pressure adjustment method from the answer details.
Does the fluid flow without pressure adjustment?
It doesn't flow. It will flow normally only after adjusting the pressure.
Is there a leak in the steam pressure reducing valve?
The allowable leakage amount is stated in the specifications of each product.
What happens if the flow direction is reversed? (Answer details include a video)
The secondary pressure is not adjusted properly.
I'm having trouble adjusting the pressure and the safety valve blows out. Is this a problem with the pressure reducing valve? Also, is it possible to exchange parts? (There is a video in the answer details)
The cause of the increase in pressure on the secondary side may be foreign matter entanglement, poor sliding, etc., and disassembly and maintenance is required.
How should I perform maintenance and inspection of the steam pressure reducing valve?
We perform regular maintenance once a year as a guide. Please refer to the instruction manual for details.
How long is the life of the steam pressure reducing valve?
The standard life of the product is about 8 years, but it actually depends on the presence or absence of maintenance.
What happens to the pressure reducing valve secondary side when the pressure on the primary side of the pressure reducing valve falls below the set pressure on the secondary side?
The set pressure cannot be maintained, and the pressure loss drops as much as the flow rate flows.
If there are two types of materials such as pistons, CAC and SUS, please tell me the difference.
CAC is a bronze casting that is often used for valve bodies and key components. SUS (stainless steel) has better corrosion resistance than CAC, but the price is high.
About pressure reducing valve for water
Please tell me how to adjust the pressure. (There is a video in the answer details)
Please see the video of the pressure adjustment method from the answer details.
What happens if the flow direction is reversed? (Answer details include a video)
The secondary pressure is not adjusted properly.
What is the useful life (the number of years recommended for replacement)?
The useful life of the main unit is about 8 years, but it depends on the usage conditions and environment.
Is it possible to reduce the hydrostatic pressure (without flowing water)?
When no water is flowing (flow rate 0), the valve is closed and the secondary side holds the set pressure.
What happens if the minimum flow rate or minimum differential pressure is exceeded?
If the conditions are outside the specified range, control will be lost and operation will become unstable.
Is a straight pipe part required before and after the pressure reducing valve?
The straight pipes before and after the pressure reducing valve are provided for the purpose of reducing the turbulent flow of fluid that has passed through the valve, etc., but if it cannot be installed due to the dimensions of the buried pit, etc., pressure control by the pressure reducing valve is possible without installing it.
Is it possible to install it 90 degrees sideways?
The mounting posture can be horizontal or vertical. If the size is large, please take a large maintenance space.
Please tell me the precautions when installing outdoors.
If there is a risk of freezing, keep warm and drain water.
What will happen to the place where dust bites and how to deal with it during the initial water flow?
Dust that has passed through the strainer gets caught in the contact surface of the valve body and valve seat. After removing the dust in the pipe with a substitute pipe, install the pressure reducing valve.
I would like to perform a pressure resistance (airtightness) test on the secondary side piping of the water supply pressure reducing valve. How much pressure can be applied?
Basically, in the case of pressure reducing valve assembly, it is 1.2 times the set pressure on the secondary side. (From SHASE S106)
If a pressure of 1.75MPa is applied to both the primary side and the secondary side during the pressure resistance test, will the pressure reducing valve be affected?
It is okay to apply 1.75MPa from the primary side, but if pressure is applied from the secondary side, the disc may be pressed against the valve seat or the diaphragm may break.
Do you need overhaul etc.?
If the pressure reducing valve is used for many years, problems such as dust biting and damage may occur.
Does it support RoHS?
Since regulated substances and materials are used for parts such as the main body, it is not currently supported. For correspondence, please estimate the model, nominal diameter, number of units, etc.
About the pressure reducing valve for door-to-door water supply
What is the useful life (the number of years recommended for replacement)?
The service life of pressure reducing valves for door-to-door water supply is 8 years after regular inspections, maintenance, and replacement of consumable parts, but this may vary depending on usage conditions.
Does the pressure reducing valve generate noise due to deterioration over time?
Noise tends to be higher due to disc damage (bite) and benza damage over time.
Is it necessary to install a pressure reducing valve for water supply for each house in all the units of an apartment house?
Not all units have it. It is not necessary to install it if the water pressure is not high on the upper floors.
Can it be attached to vertical piping?
Since the mounting posture is horizontal and vertical (except for the strainer cap facing upward), it can also be installed in vertical piping.
Does water come out of the pressure gauge fitting that is not connected to the pressure gauge when passing water?
The pressure gauge fitting has a check valve-like structure, and normally, water does not leak to the outside even when the pressure gauge is not attached.
Is it possible to install a pressure gauge?
It can be installed (available as an option).
Please tell me the guideline for regular inspections and replacements.
As a guideline for maintenance, we recommend annual inspection, overhaul inspection every 3 to 4 years, and replacement of consumable parts (rubber parts such as diaphragms, discs, O-rings).
Please tell me how to adjust the pressure. (There is a video in the answer details)
Please check the details page.
About constant flow valve
Why do you need a constant flow valve?
For the purpose of flowing a constant flow rate for cooling water of equipment and applications such as weighing, and for housing equipment, distribute the water supply and hot water supply to each house in an appropriate amount (restrict that it is not overused by one house).
Can it be used for the purpose of suppressing changes in flow rate due to fluctuations in primary pressure?
It can be used for overflow limiting applications.
What is an orifice?
It is a pipeline with a reduced area. It is the throttle of the flow path when its length is relatively short compared to the cross-sectional dimension.
Is pressure related to the operation of the constant flow valve?
The flow rate remains constant even if the pressure fluctuates.
Is it possible to change the set flow rate later?
For some constant flow valves, the set flow rate can be changed by replacing the constant flow cartridge.
What is the structure (principle) of the constant flow valve?
Please check the details.
About water hammer preventer
What kind of thing (structure) is a water hammer preventer?
Air and nitrogen adjusted to a predetermined pressure are sealed on the opposite side of the rubber diaphragm, hose, metal bellows, and piston to the wetted part to absorb water hammer.
Where do you install the water hammer preventer when water hammer occurs?
Basically, install it in the immediate vicinity of the device that generates water hammer.
About safety valve
Please tell me how to use the lift type and the total amount type properly.
There is a difference in the amount of blowout between the lift type and the total amount type. Either one can be used as long as the required amount of blowout is satisfied.
What is the purpose of the safety valve lever? (There is a video in the answer details)
This is to check if the safety valve can be operated and if there is any abnormality (sticking). (Operate when the pressure on the inlet side is 75% or more of the set pressure.)
Please tell me how to select the safety valve with lever and without lever.
As a general rule, select no lever (sealed type) for fluids that adversely affect the surroundings when the safety valve operates, such as flammable / toxic and liquid. If it is necessary to check the operation of the safety valve by operating the lever, select the one with a lever.
Is it okay to install the safety valve sideways?
In principle, it is an upright installation with the entrance facing down.
Is it okay for the user to adjust the set pressure?
Due to the structure, it can be adjusted within the spring range, but this should be done by a skilled professional. Additionally, if the pressure is changed by the user, our company does not cover it.
Please tell me the general guideline for replacing the safety valve.
Since it is a product that does not normally operate frequently, it is necessary to check for sticking by regular inspection. Please contact us if you have any problems using it.
Do you have an inspection report?
You can submit it, so please contact the agent where you purchased the product, the store, or our nearest sales office.
About the circuit valve
What is the purpose of the primary pressure control valve installed on the outlet side of the pump?
It is used to prevent overheating due to shutoff operation of the pump and to keep the pump discharge pressure constant.
What is a back pressure valve?
Refers to the primary pressure control valve. A regulating valve that discharges fluid in response to changes in the force on the primary side in order to maintain the fluid pressure on the primary side at a certain constant pressure.
What is the purpose of the water fall prevention valve?
Please check the details.
What is the purpose of the differential pressure control valve?
Please check the details.
About constant water level valve
What kind of failure (complaint) does the constant water level valve have?
Please check the details.
Why do you use solenoid valves and ball taps together for pilot piping?
When using a solenoid valve, the water level is detected by the liquid level switch, and the main valve is opened and closed by the operation of the pilot solenoid valve to control the water level.
Is the flow rate adjustment mechanism of the constant water level valve a constant flow valve?
It is not a constant flow valve. The purpose is to regulate the maximum flow rate to prevent the water pressure drop in the water pipes during the daytime when tap water is in high demand.
Does water hammer occur when the constant water level valve is closed?
The valve structure makes it difficult for water hammer to occur. There is also a constant water level valve with an adjustment mechanism that can adjust the flow rate and valve opening / closing time. In addition, some water companies require the installation of water hammer preventers.
Do you handle solenoid valve control panels?
We do not handle control panels.
About vacuum breaker
What is the purpose of the water vacuum breaker?
The vacuum breaker sucks air when the upstream side becomes negative pressure and prevents the backflow from the downstream side due to the reverse siphon action.
Does the vacuum breaker have an initial exhaust function like an intake / exhaust valve?
There is no exhaust function.
Can it be installed in buried piping?
The vacuum breaker draws in air, so avoid installing it in the ground where it may be submerged.
About check valve
What is the purpose of the check valve?
The check valve is used to prevent backflow due to back pressure, which is higher on the outlet side than on the inlet side.
What is a double check (valve)?
A normal check valve has one valve to prevent backflow, but it is equipped with two valves to improve safety.
What is the operability of the valve body?
Refers to the release pressure of the valve body. It is listed as a performance item of the Japan Water Works Association standard "JWWA B129 check valve for water supply".
Is there a check valve that can be used for vertical piping?
All of our check valves can be used for vertical piping. (Applies to the flow direction from bottom to top)
About backflow preventer
What is a decompression type backflow preventer?
It is a check valve equipped with two check valves and relief valves, and two and four test cocks for function check.
There is a decompression type, but is it possible to adjust the pressure?
The decompression type backflow preventer is a backflow preventer that has a mechanism that utilizes the pressure difference between the two check valves inside the main body, so it is not intended for pressure adjustment. Use a pressure reducing valve to adjust the pressure.
Drainage is performed from the outlet of the decompression type backflow preventer. Is this abnormal?
Even if it is normal, it may be drained due to fluctuations in water supply pressure.
Please tell me the precautions for installing the decompression type backflow preventer.
Water will flow out from the drain when the differential pressure relief valve is activated, so install a hopper below the drain or install an optional air gap (indirect drain fitting).
Can I install it in the buried pipe?
From the viewpoint of maintenance and inspection and pollution prevention, install it on the ground where there is no risk of submersion.
About temperature control valve
Is it possible to change the adjusted temperature range?
To change the temperature range, it is necessary to replace the set of temperature sensitive parts (including lead tube, bellows, bellows case) including the heat sensitive cylinder.
Does the length of the lead wire cause an error in the set temperature?
The temperature setting error varies depending on the length of the lead wire. Please contact us for more information.
Does the temperature control valve close completely when the set temperature is reached?
When the set temperature is approached, the valve starts to close, and finally the valve closes. However, there is a permissible amount of leakage.
About the mixing valve
Is it possible to completely close the fluid?
It works to close, but it cannot be completely closed, resulting in hot or cold water leaks on the secondary side.
Can it be attached to vertical piping?
Horizontal, vertical and horizontal mounting is free. (When installing vertically with a check valve, install it so that the check valve flows in the flow direction from bottom to top.)
Please tell me how to adjust the TR-5 type mixing valve. (Video included in answer details)
Please see the video for the adjustment method in the answer details.
About silencer
Why do you need a silencer?
A silencer is used when steam is blown into water to make hot water, and noise and vibration due to steam inflow are reduced. If the silencer is not used, extreme noise and vibration will occur.
What is the sound limit temperature of the silencer?
The sound limit temperature is the maximum temperature of hot water that can maintain the function of the silencer.
What causes noise when steam is blown into water? Also, what principle does the silencer suppress the noise?
When steam is blown directly into water, the steam condenses and creates a cavity, and when the surrounding hot water flows toward the cavity and collides, a large impact and noise are generated. The silencer emits steam from a small nozzle and smoothes the mixing with water to reduce noise.
About steam trap
What is a drain?
In steam-related terms, it refers to steam condensed water (a state in which steam has cooled and returned to water).
What is the role of the steam trap?
When the steam cools, it returns to water (drain). If drainage accumulates in the piping and equipment, it may reduce the efficiency of the equipment and cause water hammer, so it is used for the purpose of automatically discharging the generated drainage.
What is the role of the bypass circuit in the steam trap with bypass?
The bypass function is used at the initial stage of ventilation of equipment, etc., and it is used for the purpose of discharging a large amount of air and drain to accelerate the start-up time.
What is the interval for installing the steam trap on the steam transport pipe?
The interval between steam traps in the straight pipe of the steam transport pipe is set to 25 to 50 m for the purpose of quickly draining the drain in the pipe and preventing water hammer.
Can the steam trap be kept warm?
It is okay to keep the float type warm (it may vary depending on the conditions). Avoid keeping warm as the thermostical type affects the operation.
Does the discharge amount of the disc type steam trap differ depending on the mounting posture?
There is no effect from the mounting posture.
Is it okay to submerge the piping on the steam trap outlet side?
If the primary side becomes negative pressure, drainage such as drainage will be sucked in, causing troubles in traps and equipment, so do not submerge it.
What is a steam failure?
A state in which the drain on the primary side of the trap cannot flow in due to the steam existing in the trap.
What is the stall phenomenon?
This is a phenomenon that tends to occur in heat exchangers with load fluctuations.
How can I eliminate the stall phenomenon?
Make the trap primary pressure higher than the secondary pressure. Vacuum recovery is used on the secondary side of the trap. There are various methods such as using a pumping trap (AFP-1H type) with a trap function. Please contact your nearest sales office for details.
Please tell me how the steam trap works. (There is a video in the answer details)
Please watch the video of the answer details.
About air trap
Why do you inject water at the time of installation?
At the time of shipment, the internal bucket is sunk. By injecting water, the bucket gains buoyancy and the valve can be closed.
About radiator valve
Is it possible to completely close it?
The radiator valve can be completely closed.
Can I install it upside down?
The radiator valve will not be affected even if it is upside down.
About air vent valve
How should I handle the knob and thumbscrew on the top of the air vent valve body? (There is a video in the answer details)
Keep the knob and thumbscrew open during normal operation (fixed at the time of shipment). In the event of water leakage, the knob closes the plug. (After that, disassemble and repair immediately.)
What happens to the operation if the applicable pressure is exceeded?
It will be in an exhaust impossible state.
I would like to install an air vent valve on the suction side of the pump.
Use the AF-9 type when the suction side of the pump or other functions that only discharge air but do not suck air are required.
Is it possible to inhale?
When negative pressure is generated, the intake air is activated, but the amount of intake air is very small, so use the intake / exhaust valve if intake is also the purpose.
Can it be used for the top of a direct pressure booster water supply pipe?
Although it can be used, it may be required to install an intake / exhaust valve depending on the business entity, so please check with the business entity in your jurisdiction.
Do you have an old JIS air vent valve?
Our air vent valve does not correspond to the old JIS product.
Where should I install it when installing it in the circulation system of the hot water supply pipe?
Since air is also carried to the return pipe by the flow of hot water supply, install one each at the top of the outbound pipe and the return pipe.
Where should I install it if only one can be installed in the hot water circulation pipe?
If you install one at the top of the return pipe, it will cause air damage at the return pipe, so if you install it at the top of the return pipe, there will be less air damage.
Please tell me the difference between the air vent valve and the intake and exhaust valve. (There is a video in the answer details)
The major difference between the intake / exhaust valve and the air vent valve is the intake capacity at negative pressure. If the pressure inside the water supply stand pipe drops due to a water outage or an accident, the upper part of the stand pipe becomes negative pressure and there is a risk of backflow (reverse siphon) occurring inside the building.
About intake and exhaust valves
Please tell me the difference between the air vent valve and the intake and exhaust valve. (There is a video in the answer details)
The major difference between the intake / exhaust valve and the air vent valve is the intake capacity at negative pressure. If the pressure inside the water supply stand pipe drops due to a water outage or an accident, the upper part of the stand pipe becomes negative pressure and there is a risk of backflow (reverse siphon) occurring inside the building.
What is the under-pressure exhaust function?
It operates in the same way as a normal air vent valve, and refers to the function that allows air to be discharged under pressure.
Can it be used to eliminate negative pressure in tanks, etc.?
When using for the purpose of relieving the negative pressure of tanks and other frequently operated equipment, use the AF type air vent valve in combination with the VD-5N type vacuum breaker.
What kind of trouble is expected when the pressure is 0.01MPa or less?
When the pressure may drop below 0.01MPa (when the pressure drops to 0.01MPa or less when using water supply), the intake / exhaust valve operates each time, and water due to dust biting or damage to the cucumber disc is activated. Problems such as blowout and noise will occur.
About expansion joints
Can the direction of rotation be absorbed?
The sleeve type can also absorb the shaft rotation of the pipe. (The bellows type cannot be absorbed and the bellows will be damaged.)
Is the amount of pipe elongation constant regardless of the nominal diameter?
Since the amount of elongation is determined by the temperature difference, it is constant regardless of the nominal diameter of the pipe. However, it depends on the type of pipe (steel, copper, stainless steel).
Is there a rule on whether to use a single type or a double type of expansion joint?
There is no rule. It doesn't matter which one you choose, as long as you select the number of pipes that matches the amount of expansion and contraction of the pipe.
Can it be used for lateral vibration of piping?
It is not possible to absorb the lateral vibration of the pipe with the expansion joint. Use a ball joint to absorb lateral vibration.
About strainers
Is it possible to modify it to a dabit type on site?
It can be modified if the main body has a bearing hole for dabit (changed from 2005).
How do you select the strainer mesh?
Originally, it is selected according to the fluid, application, etc. If the mesh is fine, clogging will occur frequently, and if it is coarse, foreign matter will pass through and foreign matter will enter the product, causing malfunction or damage to the equipment.
Is there anything that can be used for vertical piping?
Basically, it can be installed on vertical piping, but please install it so that the flow direction is from top to bottom. (KU and KW types should be used on horizontal piping.)
Can I buy only Screen Net?
Parts can be supplied.
Which is better for the Y-strainer to be installed downward or horizontally?
Although the mounting posture is not specified, it is recommended that the net outlet be turned downward from the viewpoint that all the accumulated dust can be taken out inside the strainer body.
What are the differences between KY (Y type), KU (U type), and KT (straight type) strainers? (There is a video in the answer details)
Please watch the video of the answer details.
About solenoid valve
Is there any problem if the solenoid valve is used (energized) with the valve open for a long time?
The solenoid valve coil has a "continuous rating", so there is no problem even if it is used while it is energized.
The coil of the solenoid valve is hot, is that okay? (There is a video in the answer details)
There is no problem even if the coil part is hot. Please check the video explaining the answer in detail.
If the secondary side of the solenoid valve is a rising pipe, does it flow back?
The solenoid valve is closed by the weight of the valve body and the fluid pressure. Therefore, when there is no inlet pressure and a reverse pressure is applied, the valve opens and backflow occurs. In this case, install a check valve on the secondary side of the solenoid valve.
Can the solenoid valve be used as an emergency shutoff valve?
It can be used, but if it does not work (does not move) for a long time, it may stick and not work properly in an emergency. Regular operation check is required.
Please tell me the structure and operation of the solenoid valve. (There is a video in the answer details)
Please watch the video of the answer details.
About emergency shutoff valve
Is it possible to change the operating acceleration setting locally?
The operating acceleration cannot be changed in the field. Please contact us when ordering.
Is it possible to extract the operating signal?
EIM-2,3 Leeds is also manufactured with a limit switch (no voltage) as an option. The EIM-7 series has a limit switch (no voltage) on the closed side as standard.
Do you need a power supply?
The mechanical emergency shutoff valve does not require external power such as electrical signals, and does not require a power source because it operates only with the operating force of the seismic sensor due to seismic motion.
Please tell me the purpose of the shutoff valve attached to the water receiving tank (water storage tank).
When the piping is broken due to a disaster such as an earthquake, it works to secure water by stopping the shutoff valve at the entrance and exit so that the water in the water tank does not flow out.
Can it be attached to vertical piping?
The mounting posture is only upright mounting on horizontal piping.
Is it possible to control two shutoff valves with one seismic sensor?
We also manufacture two-unit control. Please contact us.
Is it legally required to install an emergency shutoff valve for the water tank?
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism recommends the installation, but there is no legal obligation and it depends on the way of thinking of each local government.
Please tell me how to operate and restore the EIM-7N type mechanical emergency isolation valve (for water receiving tank (water storage tank)). (There is a video in the answer details)
The EIM-7N mechanical emergency isolation valve can be operated without electricity and can be manually restored.
About electric valve
What is overload protection?
This prevents the motor from burning if the motor exceeds the maximum allowable temperature for some reason.
What is a spring return type? (There is a video in the answer details)
It is a mechanism that winds the spring at the same time as the valve opens when the power is turned on, and closes the valve by the force of the spring that winds up when there is a power failure. (In the case of valve open type when energized)
Do you make a spring return type three-way valve?
We do not manufacture spring return type three-way valves.
Do you have an electric valve that operates in the same way as a solenoid valve? (There is a video in the answer details)
